Our commitment to New Mexico beneficiaries
Help with the 2027 plan exits
Many Medicare Advantage plans in New Mexico end on December 31, 2026. See if yours is ending and what to do.
A local agent, not a call center
We feature independent licensed insurance agents who live and work in New Mexico (22 on this site today). A summary of benefits reads the same everywhere; networks are local. A New Mexico agent knows which doctors and hospitals a plan works with where you live.
Help all year
Enrollment is one day. The calls that matter come later: a denied claim, a doctor leaving the network, a drug that's no longer covered. The agents we work with help after you enroll, at no cost to you.
You choose who you talk to
You pick the agent and contact them directly. We don't sell your information or send it to a list of agents.
In English and Spanish
Every page is in English and Spanish, and 1 of the New Mexico agents on this site speak Spanish.
No cost to you
An agent's help is free. Insurance companies pay agents, and your premium is the same whether you enroll through an agent or on your own.
In person, if you prefer
There are 4 insurance agency offices in New Mexico where you can sit down with an agent. See offices.

Our commitment to New Mexico agents
Benefits Life was founded by a licensed insurance agent and is built around independent agents. We believe the local agent, the neighbor who knows how plans compete in their county and still answers in February, is the reason Medicare works for people. For agents in New Mexico, that means:
- Visibility at no cost. Agents who work with Benefits Life get a Premium listing on MedicareAgents.com, and those licensed in New Mexico are featured on this site: the home page, county pages and the agent search.
- One beneficiary, one agent. People who reach out through this site choose their agent. We don't sell leads or split them among agents.
- Your book stays yours. Benefits Life has a 100% Open Release policy: no waiting period, no "for cause" requirement, no fee.
- Support for local marketing. Agents contracted directly with Benefits Life can be reimbursed for 50% of approved, CMS-compliant Medicare marketing.

How we make money
Using this site costs you nothing. When the licensed insurance agents and agencies Benefits Life works with enroll beneficiaries in plans, the agent and Benefits Life may be compensated by the insurance company. We currently represent 7 organizations which offer 66 products in New Mexico, not every plan available. For information on all of your options, contact Medicare.gov or 1-800-MEDICARE.

Editorial standards
- Official sources first. We rely on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Medicare.gov, Social Security, the Federal Register, New Mexico law, and state agencies (the Health Care Authority, the Office of Superintendent of Insurance, and the Aging and Long-Term Services Department). We use KFF for research and context.
- Figures from the source. Premiums, deductibles, and limits come from the figures CMS and the IRS publish each year, kept in one data file. When a figure changes, every page updates at once.
- No insurance company names in editorial content. We name companies only when the information comes from data CMS publishes.
- Review. We review pages each fall, when CMS publishes the next year's figures and plans, and whenever a law or rule changes.
- Corrections. If you find a mistake, call us at 505-MEDICARE (505-633-4227), TTY 711 or write to the mailing address above.
